U-15's Continue Their Winning Ways
Knocknacarra FC U 15's continued their promising start to the season with 2-1 victory over a gallant and talented West Coast Utd on Saturday at Cappagh Park.
Knocknacarra started strongly with Willie Barrett and Chris Beatty combining well and Eoin Maher steadying the defence after some early lapses. Despite some close calls and one good save from keeper Aaron Reen, Knocknacarra had some close misses with a Barrett chip and a header going close and Sam Knight being narrowly wide with two shots. The sides turned all square at the break and continued to trade chances until, after some defensive lapses, West Coast took a deserved lead with ten minutes to go.
The introduction of Karl o' Sullivan, last years leading scorer, sparked Knocknacarra to life and with three minutes remaining Barrett equalised with a cool finish. With some great clearances from man of the match Cian Healy Knocknacarra weathered West Coasts attempts to get a winner and in the third minute of injury time O'Sullivan finished clinically after some good work from Rob 'Keady' and Noor.
This puts this team in a good position for next weekends clash with Hibs Foyle.
